Privacy Notice

Last updated 20 July 2026

Pith is a weekly email digest of health-topic highlights. This notice explains, in plain language, what personal data we collect, why, who helps us process it, how long we keep it, and the choices you have. We keep the amount of data we hold deliberately small.

Who we are

Pith ("we", "us") operates pith.health. For any privacy question or request, contact privacy@pith.health, or simply reply to any Pith email.

What we collect

We do not ask for your name, address, payment details (any payment is handled by Stripe on their own systems — we never see your card), or any account password.

A note on health topics. The topics you pick can reveal an interest in health subjects, which some laws (such as the EU/UK GDPR) treat as a sensitive, "special category" of data. Because of that, we only store your topics with your explicit consent — the box you tick when you join — and we use them for one purpose only: choosing what goes in your digest.

Why we're allowed to use it (legal basis)

Where the GDPR applies, our basis is your consent, which you give by ticking the box when you join the waitlist. You can withdraw it at any time (see Your rights), and withdrawing it does not affect anything we did before you withdrew.

Who processes your data

We use a few trusted service providers ("processors") to run Pith. They act on our instructions and are not permitted to use your data for their own purposes:

ProviderWhat they doWhat they touch
FormspreeReceives the waitlist form when you joinYour email + chosen topics
ResendSends your digest emailsYour email address
CloudflareHosts the website and DNSStandard web request logs

We also use AI services (for transcription and summarizing) to process public source content — podcasts, newsletters, and videos. Those services do not receive your email or your topic list; they never see who you are.

We do not sell, rent, or share your personal data with anyone for advertising.

How long we keep it

We keep your email and topics for as long as you're subscribed. If you unsubscribe or ask us to delete your data, we remove it promptly (and in any case within 30 days), except where we must keep a minimal record to honor your unsubscribe choice.

Your rights

You can, at any time:

To exercise any of these, email privacy@pith.health or reply to any digest. We'll action it and confirm. If you're in the EU/UK and unhappy with our response, you may complain to your local data protection authority.

Children

Pith is not intended for anyone under 16, and we don't knowingly collect their data.

Changes

If we change this notice materially, we'll update the date above and, where appropriate, tell you by email before the change affects you.
